The Tully IAFF Local 4036 has full-time Firefighter/Paramedics and Firefighter/EMT’s. The Career staff is comprised of a career Captain, five Firefighter/Paramedics and two Firefighter/EMT’s. As well as part-time firefighters.
The Tully Ambulance District is an Advanced Life Support agency providing emergency medical care for the village, town of Tully and surrounding areas since the year 2000. Our ambulances are staffed with Paramedics, Advanced EMT’s, and EMT Basics, which can be either career, part-time and/or volunteer. The Ambulance District operates with one Medic Car and two ALS Ambulances.
All of our career firefighters are fully trained to the New York State 229 Professional Firefighter Standard. Our full-time firefighters work a two-day rotating 24-hour schedule providing Advanced Life Support service as well as fire protection service. The volunteers of the Tully Hose Company and Tully Ambulance District supplement the career staff as ambulance drivers or as emergency medical providers. These dedicated volunteers are scheduled throughout the week to help and support the career staff with ambulance coverage.
Local 4036 staff have multiple roles in the Tully Fire District as well as the Ambulance District. Career and part-time staff preform daily drills as well as monthly drills. The staff is responsible for maintenance in and around the fire house as well as equipment on both the ambulance and fire apparatus within the Fire District and Ambulance District.
Those interested in becoming a career Firefighter/Paramedic or EMT must be selected through the Onondaga County Civil Service process. If you are interested in being a part-time Paramedic, EMT or volunteering, please call the fire station between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00, Monday through Thursday. You can also stop by the station to pick up an application or inquire about a position.
