2nd Assistant Chief

Assistant Chief Joe Nemier has over 20 years of experience in emergency services. Prior to joining the ranks of the Tully Hose Co.#1, Nemier was a member of the Nedrow Fire Department, where he began his fire service career following in the footsteps of his late Grandfather (Syracuse FD retired) and his father (Past Chief of Nedrow FD). He is currently the President of the New York State Association of Fire Safety Educators (NY-SAFE), Director for the Onondaga County Volunteer Firefighters Association (OCVFA), and a Fire Advisory Board member for Onondaga County. He also is the Vice President of the Southern Section Line Officers Association of Onondaga County.

Outside of the Tully Hose Co.#1, Chief Nemier is a Risk Management Training Specialist for McNeil and Company where he specializes in developing educational training presentations to teach fire and emergency service clients across the the United States.
