David Dix
Lieutenant Dave Dix began his fire service career with the Homer Fire Department (Cortland County). He relocated with his family to the Jamesville area where he then wanted to serve his new community. He joined the Jamesville Fire Department and served several years rising through the ranks to Fire Captain. After several years of service in Jamesville, Lieutenant Dix and his family relocated to Tully where he joined the Tully Hose Company #1 in 2016. After loosing his own home to fire, it strengthened Lieutenant Dix’s desire to service he Tully community and its neighbors. He was awarded Tully Hose Company’s Firefighter of the Year in 2024. He has become a mentor for many youths in the department and he is one of the department’s Driver Trainers. Recently Lt. Dix became Director of the Onondaga County Volunteer Firefighters Association (OCVFA).
Outside the of the fire station, Lieutenant Dix works for the Tully Central School District. He enjoys spending time with his wife, son and daughter. Lt. Dix’s daughter, Gabby, is a firefighter for the Tully Hose Company #1.
