The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, has issued an outdoor burning ban from March 16th – May 14th (tentatively).

This annual ban has helped to reduce wildfires by over 50% in New York State.

Fines can start at $500. There are exemptions for certain agricultural. Visit https://dec.ny.gov/environmental-protection/air-quality/open-burning for more information.
